Est. 1867
As we embark upon our 156th anniversary, we can’t help but reflect on what life might have been like for a small group of Christian believers—those who sustained a faith to continue in the pursuit of Christianity after a period of enslavement and a Civil War. Had we been there during this time, would we have been so driven to continue in the faith or so determined to find a gathering place to worship? In delving through the annals of history, we begin to get a glimpse into how the First Baptist Church on Alexandria Pike in Warrenton came to be. (This a work in progress). There is so much more to discover about her history; the challenge is to continue the search and to add to what is written here.
