 Senior Usher Ministry:

The Senior Usher Ministry’s proud mission is taken from Psalm 84:10 “For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.”

Usher are more often than not the first interaction visitors experience at First Baptist. They are responsible for bringing comfort, compassion, and the spirit of God’s blessings to all who enter the church doors. They greet people, ensure order, assist worshippers, provide guidance, and represent First Baptist Church while assisting other usher boards during their services

 The Altar Guild:

Our mission is to provide fresh altar flowers every Sunday and to replace the potted plants as needed. The altar flowers are donated by the Guild members, gratis. Our goal is to provide the nicest flowers available as economically as possible. Any church member who may wish at some time to donate flowers for the altar is invited to do so. When organizations or committees require special flowers or special colors, we request that they notify the Guild, ahead of time, that they will be providing the flowers for their event.

The Pastor’s Aid Ministry is a microcosm of the congregation–all of whom should do our parts in supporting the pastor as mandated in the scriptures: We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.”    1 Thessalonians 5:12-13
